Hi Laura, i think i can understand you, some time when i was student i used to hate the english, but after some time i realized its very importan and necesary. I am from México City, and i'd love to live in Canada. Last october i traveled to Vancouver and it is a beautiful city, and Victoria is like a paradise. While i can go to live to the north, i'm trying no visit more places (towns and cities) here in Mexico, and i just started to practice Mountain Biking. I hope to enjoy Mexican nature scenic views and towns across the road. Maybe you can tell us how do you see our english writing and expression skills because you have formal language studies and practice it frequently. And please feel free to write an tell us more aboyt you, your life, your country and you future plans. Any topic is good for practice.
Hey Aldana !

I'm also new in this group. I'm a 59 years old woman and I live in Acapulco. My parents were German (father) and French (mother) and I was born in France.
I became a Mexican citizen by naturalization about 30 years ago, since a married a guy from Mexico City. I speak quite fluently french, english and spanish since I'am an official translater & interpreter.
You wrote you were interested to practice your english...so let's practice our english, there are quite a lot of topics to talk about...like Canada, for instance.
I used to live in this great country for about 15 years, in the Ottawa-Hull area.
So...if you have questions about the huge white contry, ask me, and I'll try to inform the best I can.
Regards,
JACQUELINE MEURET-KLUFTS.
Hi Maira, Gabriel, Jaqueline and Laura.
I'm 32 years old, I'm from Argentina, but actually I live in Montreal.
I'm working in information techolonogy area and I'm trying to improve my english and, off course, francais too.
Please let me know if I'm not right:
Maira, you are from Uruguay and you're planning to visit Canada.
Gabriel, you are from Mexico.
Jaqueline, you are francaise ;) but you live in Mexico and you speak a lot of languages...
and Laura you are from Equador and you are going to visit Canada too.

Good, everybody be in touch
Aldana
Hi Aldana, it is apleasure to know you. Your actual situation is interesting because you live in Canada as a migrant and have had (I think you have) all the dificulties or facilities for settle in a new country. Was it dificult to migrate for you as argentinian? Do you know mexican people there in Montreal? Have they talked to you their migraiton experiences? Can you share them with us?

I am Web Designer and i think i have chance to find a good and not so bad payed work in Canada, here in mexico i am trying to get more professional experience and become certifyed by companies like Adobe and Autodesk as a plus. Do you think it is possible for me?

Thenk you and i hope to talk a lot and about many other themes.
Hi Gabriel,
I'm here since November 2007, and really it is not easy to live in another country with so different cultures from my own country, but it's good. Here, in Montreal, you can find people from many different places, it's amazing. People who talks different languages, people who has different cultures and costumes. You can walk on the streets and in one block to hear more than 5 different languages... So I'm very happy. The Latin community is important, there are a lot a lot Mexicans (I guess because they don't need visa to enter). Regarding to the jobs, I think the different point of view depends on the profession that you have. I work in IT as Oracle Developer and I can tell you that in this area is not a big issue to find a good (with a good salary) job. So if you are thinking about to came here, don't be shame. I think it's a very good experience.
Yes Aldana, i'm thinking to go to Canada, but i plan to move as a permanent resident with my wife who also works on IT at an International company Accenture. That is why i need to be sure we have chances to success professinoally. Of course i understand what you say about the multicultural canadian society. I was able to live that experience last october when i tripped to Vancouver, but there the most spoken languages are chinese and obviously english. I was lucky to find some mexicans workind in stores and restaurantes and gave us some advices and tips about te city and the transportations system, and those was very useful. People in general is very kind and gently, but i know that is very diferent being there as tourist than as part of the community, where you have so much more dutties and rigths.

Thank you for continue talking with us and i hope you to share your experience living en Montreal with the forum and please feel free to ask anything about me, my plans, my trip or whatever you wanna know. At the end the idea is to practice as much as possible.
My name¨is Leti. Im new at the group. I would like to practice my English.
